Mission to Mexico — Day of Worship
Mission to Mexico – Day Four
Our grace, mercy, and compassion meter ran all the way to the top today. How can we take in any more?
We drove to Playa del Carmen this morning to see the church building that some of us worked on in 2003 and 2005. What we saw at Principe de Paz was an equipping ministry that filled the sanctuary, the rooms in the pastor’s home, and the other two rooms of the church building! Pastor Joel said that the church is full for evening worship, also. We presented a photo book that Doug made from the construction in 2005, and brought greetings to them from Gilda.
We ate at the restaurant that Ramon suggested called “The Catch.” The fish was wonderful! Ann and Pastor Felipe chose the dog fish, and it was served whole, from head to tail! Everyone enjoyed the unique dining experience…yum! So far, no one is getting skinny on this mission trip!
There was just enough time to walk to the beautiful beach of Playa del Carmen and get our feet wet. We watched the children play in the turquoise blue water and carve animal shapes in the white sand.
Tonight, we worshiped with the people of Dios es amor, and WE were blessed!!! The two keyboards were dedicated, and used the new one to lead worship. They are so happy to not need to borrow a keyboard anymore! They gave a handmade gift to each of us, and asked us to take gifts home to Gilda and Joel. Our contribution to worship was a song about the church written and sung by Pastor Dana, and a testimony of God’s saving grace presented by Todd.
The sermon scripture was Ezra 3: 10-13. Wow!
Please pray for no rain tomorrow in Cancun that might prevent us from filling forms with concrete.
